Where It All Began
In 2001, Mr. Peng Yap started Prime Source Technologies with a simple conviction: deliver smart, innovative technology solutions and treat every relationship like it matters, because it does.
Our very first client was Zip Cleaners, a small dry cleaning business that trusted a brand-new company to help them grow. With PST’s technology support, Zip Cleaners expanded from a dozen locations to over 60 today. That first partnership set the tone for everything that followed: build real relationships, deliver real results, and grow together.
By 2002, PST secured a GSA Schedule, opening the door to government opportunities. In 2004, we began our relationship with the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), building the award-winning Transportation Online Permitting System (TOPS) from the ground up, a system that still serves the District today and earned the StateScoop Award for Innovation in 2015. Our GIS work with DDOT also produced TIES, which received an Esri Award in 2014. DDOT marked the beginning of a DC Government portfolio that would span multiple agencies over the next two decades.
In 2005, PST won its first federal contract with the Department of Commerce (DOC) and teamed up with Juvare in support of Hurricane Katrina emergency management efforts, a partnership that grew into a lasting collaboration and GSA reseller relationship for Juvare’s WebEOC products.
Every project, no matter the size, taught us something. Every client relationship reinforced what we already knew: people are everything.
Growing Into the Federal Marketplace
By 2008, PST was competing and winning in the federal space. Our early work at the Department of Commerce opened doors to the U.S. Department of State (DOS) and the U.S. Census Bureau (USCB). By 2010, we were supporting USCB Badging Operations and the Core Financial System, while building a growing portfolio at DOS that started with the Bureau of Arms Control, Verification and Compliance (AVC/NNRRC) and Diplomatic Security in 2013.
Through the next decade, our federal footprint expanded across agencies, USDA, HHS, DHS, DOS, and multiple DC Government agencies, each engagement earned through performance, trust, and long-term relationships.
In 2015, PST won the prime role on the USCB Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) contract, growing into five Task Orders and positioning us to support the 2020 Census modernization and Decennial count. At DOS, our portfolio grew to span 25+ countries and exceed $100 million in value, from the ITAP project in Lebanon (2018) to the RISE contract and the Facilities O&M BPA awarded in 2026.
Today, PST holds positions on the government’s most competitive contract vehicles, SHIELD (MDA), OASIS+ Small Business, ITSSS-2 (FBI), JETS 2.0 (DLA), and the newly awarded SEWP VI (NASA). These vehicles represent the trust agencies place in us to deliver at scale, and they position PST for continued growth in our next chapter.
